The relationship between schools, enterprises and students should be considered an equal, interactive and dependent relationship, said Dr. Vo Le Phu from the HCMC University of Technology’s Department of Environment Management.
He said that universities should be considered “products providers” where students are the products and enterprises are the customers.
Director of the Athena Training and Education Network Vo Do Thang said schools should invite business associations and private enterprises to conduct seminars on their campuses.
“Schools should invite private-sector experts to take part in training programs,” said Dr. Dinh Duc Anh Vu, vice dean of the HCMC University of Technology’s Science and Computer Department.
Enterprises and schools should join hands to carry out research and develop technology, he said.
“Schools could take students on field trips to companies and invite those companies to attend seminars at the schools,” said Phan Tuan Duy, a senior student in the university’s Construction Methodology Department.
The meeting, titled “Connecting Schools, Enterprises and Students,” was held by the HCMC University of Technology.
