1,200 foreigners to visit Da Nang on New Year’s Day
Friday, 12.26.2008, 03:17am (GMT)

Click to see real sizeOn the first day of 2009, about 1,100 visitors from Germany, Italy and France will arrive in the central city of Da Nang. The same day, another 130 tourists will fly to the city from Thailand. These are good signals of the New Year for the city in the context that its tourism sector has been strongly affected by the world recession.

Five days later, a flight from the Republic of Korea (RoK) will bring 178 tourists to Da Nang, according to the local Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Other flights on the same route will land in the city from January 5 - 12.

This is a good chance to boost the relations between the city’s tourism companies and RoK companies, especially as the two countries will celebrate the 30th anniversary of friendly relations this year.
