| Many have begun organizing “fresh milk tours” on their farms where tourists can camp out, sample fresh milk, and try their hand at being a farmer for a day.

Farms in Moc Chau Plateau, which have the highest fresh milk output in the country, are also joining in the new business venture.
“This will mark a long-term business trend for cow farmers in Moc Chau and it will probably help them to enrich [business],” said Pham Van Nhan, vice director of the Moc Chau Milk Cow Company.
Tourists coming to Moc Chau can enjoy sleeping in the cool outdoors in a tent pitched on a grass field and can sample fresh milk after helping farmers to milk the cows.
At night, dinner is served around a roaring camp-fire. Pham Van Te, owner of a local dairy farm, said he plans to buy more tents and supplies to grow his new business.
Most farmers charge VND200,000 (US$12) for a two-day tour.
Lam Thanh Tran, owner of the largest farm in Moc Chau, said he earned $120 in 10 days last month after receiving eight tourist groups.
“I will earn more than that if I can provide better service,” he said.
Local authorities certify that Moc Chau fresh cow milk meets quality standards and is free from melamine – the industrial chemical found recently in Chinese milk products.
